Job Summary

As an reputed company Patient Account Analyst II - CBO Customer Service - Remote, you will be responsible for performing a variety of registration, billing, follow-up, and collection functions for reputed company payers, including self-pay. You will work closely with internal departments to obtain information for external requests, including refunds, and act as a liaison to reputed company vendors. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and commitment to exceptional customer service will be essential in ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of patient accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance benefits and contact patients for necessary information pertaining to registration, billing, and collection
  • Process financial assistance applications and resolve inquiries received pertaining to patient accounts
  • Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts and review accounts for reputed company collection or legal authorization
  • Work with internal departments to obtain information for external requests, including refunds, and act as a liaison to reputed company vendors
  • Review debits, credits, refunds, bad debt, and contractual allowances for accuracy and process as applicable
  • Reconcile electronic payment remittances and independently review assigned reports to ensure goals and deadlines are met
  • Lockbox reconciliation and reporting, and assist management with training new staff
  • Obtain prior authorization for scheduled services and reputed company other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to accurately and independently solve problems by taking a basic skills test and scoring a minimum of 80%
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to input and retrieve information from a computer, operate a calculator, fax machine, and copier
  • Previous experience with computers and office applications
  • Ability to move about the office and between workstations
  • Ability to occasionally lift, move, and carry moderately heavy materials
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • At least 1 year of experience in medical registration, billing, customer service, or collection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
