Job title: Criminal Justice Data Entry Clerk (Teletype Specialist) Company: Manatee County Sheriff's Office Job description: General Description of Duties This is a civilian position providing clerical and customer service duties to include timely data-entry and dissemination of sensitive criminal justice information such as missing persons, stolen vehicles, injunctions, criminal history checks, etc.. Clerks work closely with law enforcement deputies, detectives and other agencies reputed company the radio and/or phone and are responsible for accurate tracking, validating and cancellation of Florida/National Crime Information Center (FCIC/NCIC) records as necessary. MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WORK NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS AND ROTATING SHIFTS. Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
  • Ability to accurately enter and/or retrieve information from various computer systems and/or programs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Knowledge of the geography of the county and its road network.
  • Knowledge of reputed company codes and signals used to respond to emergency and non-emergency service.
  • Knowledge of FCIC/NCIC rules and regulations, codes and query forms.

  • This is a 24/7 operation. Employee must be able to work flexible hours/schedules.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Required to speak and hear clearly. Often required to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reputed company with arms and hands, climb stairs or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. .
  • 35 WPM typing required.
  • Valid Florida driver license required.
