The city of Las Vegas Youth Development and Social Initiatives department is seeking individuals to fill the following positions for the 2025-2026 school year: 

Safekey/RAP Site Assistant - $14/per hourSafekey/RAP Site Leader - $16/per hour Safekey/RAP Site and Behavior Trainer - $25/per hour The Safekey and ReInvent (RAP) Before- and- After-School enrichment programs are offered at 70 elementary schools reputed company the city of Las Vegas. These programs provide a safe environment where children in kindergarten–5th grade engage in fun enrichment and recreational activities, have a nutritious snack, and have time to work on their homework under the supervision of caring adult role models.

There are 5 different Safekey municipalities in the valley.  We, the city of Las Vegas Safekey/RAP program, operate in 70 elementary school locations in the areas highlighted in BLUE (service boundaries are approximated) on the map below.

    Work hours, shift and location are not guaranteed and subject to be changed at any time based on program and facility needs.  Safekey/RAP team members work at elementary school sites before and/or after school, which may require staff to work a split shift. You will be working an hourly position scheduled on average 19-25 hours per week during the school year.

    Shifts typically occur:

    1) Mornings:  1-2 hours between 6:30-8:00 a.m. or 7:00-9:00 a.m. (M-F) and/or 

    2) Afternoons: 2.5-4 hours between 2:00-6:00 p.m. or 3:00-6:00 p.m. (M-F)

    Hourly Safekey/RAP employees are also limited to 1,019 hours of work from July 2025 to June 2026.   

    Employment is seasonal and the Clark County School District calendar is used as a guide for staff scheduling.

    How soon can I start working?Safekey/RAP seasonal positions start Monday, August 11, 2025. There are required in-service orientation trainings prior to working at school sites. Additional trainings will be required. Your individual employment start date will be contingent upon successful clearance of a preliminary background reputed company and drug screening. Supervision Received Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.Duties include but are not limited to: 

    Safekey/RAP Site Assistant:

    The duties of a site assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Performs routine work executing the daily operations of the Safekey/RAP program;
  • Ensures the safety of participants is maintained through direct, adequate and consistent supervision at reputed company times (by sight and hearing) and active engagement throughout the program;
  • Models enthusiasm, innovation, motivation, initiative and involvement; 
  • Plans and facilitates structured program activities on a daily basis; programming and curriculum must be age-appropriate and include physical activities (indoor and outdoor), literacy, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics), arts and crafts, holiday-themed activities, homework time, etc.;
  • Leads group games and is active for 30 minutes or more at a time, both indoors and outdoors; 
  • Assists with site opening and closing procedures including cleaning/disinfecting, organizing and set-up/take down of program area, equipment and supplies; 
  • Ensures reputed company program equipment and supplies are in a safe, operational, and presentable condition;
  • Completes administrative tasks and paperwork/documentation as needed, such as snack distribution sheets, fire drills, citizen incident reports, inappropriate behavior tracking reports, attendance, as well as electronic-reputed company tasks such as participant sign-in/out;
  • Assists in enforcing site safety, the sign-in and sign-out procedures and greets reputed company persons that enter the program room;
  • Reports reputed company incidents, safety concerns, facility issues, etc. to the site leader or other supervisory staff;
  • Provides substitute support at the assigned or alternate location as needed.
  • Provides assistance to full-time or part-time classified staff or designee, and other duties as assigned.
  • Safekey/RAP Site Leader:

    Site leader duties encompass those of a site assistant and in addition include but are not limited to:

  • Provides reputed company and supervision of the program participants and site assistants;
  • Ensures the planning, programming and execution of the daily operations, schedule, safety guidelines and program curriculum are being implemented to standard;
  • Ensures programs and activities are structured to best meet program needs;
  • Monitors site inventory and submits supply and equipment requests (this includes requests for replacement of damaged, unsafe or lost equipment);
  • Ensures completion of administrative tasks, emergency drills, forms and reports, and ensures participant records are organized and maintained;
  • Serves as the main on-site reputed company-of-contact for the Safekey/RAP office, parents and CCSD staff regarding site concerns, participant behavior, incidents, etc.; assists with parent meetings, and gives input on behavior plans as needed;
  • Communicates regularly with full-time or part-time staff with regard to assigned site, parents/guardians, program activities and updates;
  • Submits requests for special events, site signage and parent communications to the supervisor for preapproval;
  • Provides hands-on training for and monitors work performance of assigned site assistants and reports performance to assigned supervisor;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Site and Behavior Trainer:This position provides specialized training and support for program staff, including Site Leaders and Site Assistants, on policies, procedures, behavior management, group management, curriculum implementation, programming, site operations and site organization. This position involves a combination of administrative and field work and requires both the ability to travel to any of 70 program locations and to adjust to unexpected changes in work assignments, locations, or schedules as required. Work includes conducting site observations, providing direct training and coaching, and ensuring staff are reputed company to effectively manage their program sites. The Site and Behavior Trainer will reputed company and implement training sessions, mentor new employees, and facilitate behavior reputed company strategies.

    This position requires flexibility, strong leadership, and a commitment to ensuring a positive, safe, and enriching experience for program staff and participants. The Site and Behavior Trainer plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and reputed company of the Safekey/RAP program by equipping staff with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.

    The duties of a site and behavior trainer encompass those of a site leader and in addition include but are not limited to:

  • Provides hands-on training to Site Leaders and Site Assistants on the daily operations of a Safekey/RAP program, including, but not limited to, curriculum implementation, activity facilitation, and site organization.
  • Conducts site observations to assess staff performance, provide feedback and guide staff on adherence to program policies and procedures.
  • Trains staff on behavior management strategies, such as proactive and reactive techniques, de-escalation strategies (verbal and non-verbal), and conflict resolution.
  • Assists in developing behavior reputed company strategies and individualized behavior plans for participants as needed.
  • Supports staff in implementing group management techniques to enhance program engagement and effectiveness.
  • Provides guidance on professional communication, customer service, and leadership to foster a positive work environment.
  • Ensures that Site Leaders and Assistants understand and follow safety protocols, sign-in/out procedures, and emergency procedures.
  • Assists in writing professional documentation, including behavior plans, email communications, curriculum planning, and incident reports.
  • Support program planning and management by helping staff schedule activities, structure daily programming, and implement engaging games and learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with Safekey/RAP leadership to assess training needs and reputed company new training materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and reputed company recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to Safekey/RAP staff to enhance their professional development.

  • Safekey/RAP Site Assistant & Site Leader:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Infant, Child and Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification at time of start/reclassification.
  • Need to maintain the physical agility necessary to demonstrate and maintain sports, and other recreation games and activities, move and maintain equipment, and other physical activities as needed to provide the safety, welfare and reputed company necessary.
  • Ability to remain outdoors for extended periods (60 minutes or more) while providing active, roving supervision and engaging with children.
  • Ability to adjust to unexpected changes in work assignments, locations, or schedules as required.
  • Formal and informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • Experience using technology such as iPad, printer, cell phone, and internet based applications.
  • Need to maintain reputed company department required trainings.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 
      Experience working with children in a group setting. Bilingual skills are desirable. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) Credential is preferred
    Site and Behavior Trainer: Minimum requirements encompass those of the Safekey/ReInvent Site Assistant/Site Leader and:

    Minimum requirements encompass both those of the Safekey/RAP site assistant and site leader as well as:

  • One school year of experience as a Safekey/RAP site leader or site assistant, or equivalent experience working with youth in educational, enrichment, behavioral support and/or recreational settings; experience in schools, summer camps, and after-school programs is highly valued.
  • Proficiency with technology such as iPads, printers, cell phones, and internet-based applications.
  • Available to work both morning and afternoon program shifts.
  • Ability to travel to any of 70 program locations and to adjust to unexpected changes in work assignments, locations, or schedules as required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

      Experience applying research-based proactive and reactive behavior management strategies.
    • Training in non-violent de-escalation techniques such as CPI (Crisis Prevention reputed company) Part I.
    • Background or training in implementing group management strategies. 
    • Strong customer service, leadership, and professional communication skills.
    • Experience in program planning, curriculum development and structured recreational or enrichment activities.
    • Experience working with the public to support the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of youth and families
    • Experience delivering training to individuals and groups through various methods, such as hands-on instruction, formal presentations, onboarding sessions, or other training formats.
    • Professional writing and documentation skills, including report writing and email communication.
    • Bilingual skills are desirable.
