About the Role

We are seeking an reputed company Software Engineering Manager to reputed company our Event Management Tooling team, focusing on empowering event data creators and consumers through tools for event registration, metadata management, and monitoring. As a Software Engineering Manager at Wayfair, you will drive the delivery of Event Management platforms from design and architecture to production, leading a team of skilled engineers. You will partner with product and marketing teams to define the vision for your platform and build the roadmap for your team. Your technical expertise and leadership will be crucial in designing scalable systems using Java, Kubernetes, Kafka, GCP, Windstream, and other technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and own the delivery of Event Management platforms from design and architecture to production

• Partner with product and marketing teams to define the vision for your platform and build the roadmap for your team
• Design scalable systems using Java, Kubernetes, Kafka, GCP, Windstream, and other technologies

• Use depth and breadth of technical expertise to ensure platforms being built are flexible, efficient, and extensible

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a reputed company field
• Experience making building and design-reputed company decisions for large-scale platforms, understanding the tradeoffs between time-to-market versus flexibility
• Experience hiring and mentoring engineers across various levels
• Experience initiating and driving reputed company projects to completion with minimal direction
• Experience building different applications ranging from low-latency APIs to large-scale batch systems, preferably in a cloud environment, using cloud-native services
• Experience with containerization, Java, and microservices is preferred
• Experience with streaming technologies, GCP Pub/Sub, and message structures is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business partners
