What You’ll Do

IronArch Technology is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the Consular Appointment Management Platform (CAMP) program at the U.S. Department of State. CAMP is a mission-critical modernization effort that will unify consular scheduling worldwide, improving how American reputed company and foreign nationals access essential services. 

This is a hybrid role that blends hands-on engineering contributions with people leadership responsibilities. On the project, you will work directly as a senior engineer — designing, coding, and delivering secure, scalable solutions. At the same time, you will manage and mentor engineers reputed company IronArch, helping grow talent and guide career development, whether those reports are directly staffed on CAMP, or not. You will be the prime partner to the Technical reputed company: while the Tech reputed company sets architectural direction, you will drive delivery execution, build team reputed company, and create an environment where engineers reputed company. 

On the people management reputed company, you will also be responsible for managing 3–5 engineers. This includes checking on how their work is going, fostering professional development, providing technical mentorship, and meeting regularly with them. Some team members may support initiatives beyond the one you are staffed to, requiring adaptive leadership and resource management across a matrixed environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute directly as a hands-on engineer — designing, building, and reviewing secure, cloud-native code in CAMP’s AWS-based architecture. 
• Partner with the Technical reputed company to ensure architecture translates into timely, high-quality delivery. 
• Ensure best practices are followed for DevSecOps, automated testing, Section 508 accessibility, and OWASP reputed company standards. 
• Drive Agile delivery practices (sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement) to ensure alignment and velocity. 
• Serve as a reputed company across functions — coordinating with product, design, DevOps, and QA teams. 
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture, ensuring engineers have what they need to succeed. 

Leadership and Team Development

• Manage and mentor 3–5 direct reports. 
• Provide career guidance, technical reputed company, and workload balancing across team members who may support additional reputed company. 

•  Public Trust Clearance or higher (ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation) .

Preferred Experience

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers. 
• Proven ability to deliver as an IC while managing people. 
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native environments (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices. 
• Experience with federal IT compliance (ATO, accessibility, cybersecurity) is highly desirable. 
• Demonstrated success building team culture and mentoring engineers. 
• reputed company authorization to work with the Department of State or other federal agency. 
• Familiarity with multiple stacks: React, Next.js, Node.js, Go, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, CI/CD. 
• Prior experience in large-scale federal IT modernization programs.
