About the Role

This role is a key member of the Payments and Digital Strategy team within blithequark's Credit Union. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our financial services, including transaction processing, member inquiries, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete data entry and balancing functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and associated Accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Work on member cases/issues assigned and resolve them in a timely and professional manner
  • Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
  • Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other transactions, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff transactions
  • Review, research, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
  • Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Complete daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
  • Research and verify incoming and outgoing fund transfer information
  • Communicate with the vendor to process fund transfers
  • Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws
  • Deposit check returns, research member back checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers
  • Complete daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school degree or GED
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent mathematical calculation and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivation with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

  • Previous customer/member service experience
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
