Purpose and Impact

The purpose of the Infant and Toddler Development Teacher is to provide high-quality education and care to infants and toddlers in an early head start classroom environment, while complying with federal performance standards. Your role will involve planning, developing, and implementing daily lesson plans, assessing children's developmental and educational needs, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for reputed company children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, reputed company, and implement daily lesson plans that provide for educational and enrichment activities for infants and toddlers
  • Screen and assess infant and toddler-aged children to determine developmental/educational needs, and reputed company and implement individual education plans
  • Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child, including weekly observations, examples of the child's work, and developmental assessments
  • Communicate with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, telephone, and home visits to apprise them of their child's reputed company, upcoming events, and classroom activities
  • Ensure that at least 80% of children are ready for preschool, and plan classroom activities for parent and community volunteers
  • Conduct health checks on children for health concerns, including ringworm, head lice, or other health conditions, and report to the appropriate nurse
  • Plan, coordinate, and reputed company field trips for assigned children, and request supplies and equipment to be ordered for use by children in the classroom
  • Inspect classrooms and grounds to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities, and reputed company First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • A National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement
  • One year of experience in teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten-aged children
  • Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infant/toddler education, behavior modification theories and practices relating to infant/toddler development, and reputed company educational techniques and practices relating to infant/toddler development
  • Ability to resolve conflicts between toddler-aged children, plan, organize, and implement infant/toddler education curriculums, and assume a seated position on the floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to prepare and maintain work-reputed company reports and files, handle confidential information, administer CPR and First Aid, and implement safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a reputed company field
  • Two or more years of experience in teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten-aged children
  • Experience working with children with special needs, and knowledge of strategies for supporting children with diverse abilities
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, and experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds
