DoorDash, a leading technology and logistics company, is seeking an experienced Manager, Leave of Absence & Accommodations to join our Total Rewards team. As a key member of our Leave of Absence & Accommodations (LOAA) Team, you will play a critical role in delivering a best-in-class experience for our employees, executing leaves of absence and accommodations while driving efficiency through technological advancements and process improvements. About the Team

The LOAA Team is part of the larger Total Rewards team and is responsible for overseeing all global leave of absence operations, policies, and procedures. We strive to provide excellent service at times of high importance to our employees and aim to continuously improve efficiency for our partners. As a Manager, Leave of Absence & Accommodations, you will lead the LOAA Team, including LOAA Business Partners, Leave Administrators, and LOAA Compliance and Escalation Specialists.

About the Role

As a Manager, Leave of Absence & Accommodations, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the LOAA team, including LOAA Business Partners, Leave Administrators, and LOAA Compliance and Escalation Specialist.
  • Leading LOAA Team operations, including development and enforcement of global leave of absence and accommodations process flows, policies, and procedures.
  • Managing LOAA vendors, including ongoing meetings, monitoring performance guarantees, and contract and payment issues.
  • Acting as an expert on LOA cases and accommodations, including federal and state-mandated regulations; global LOA knowledge is a plus.
  • Providing guidance to LOAA Team members on complicated and challenging leave cases, and responding to escalations.
  • Understanding and integrating programs involved in the LOAA process, including company leaves and disability benefits, CA/NY SDI, Workers' Compensation, as well as other international (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.), federal, state, and local mandated programs.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in the leave process, including People Business Partners, Employee Relations, People Operations, Payroll, and Legal teams, and our employee managers.
  • Exploring and implementing new technologies to enhance employee experience.
  • Developing and tracking metrics related to LOAA cases and employee experience, including regular reports to leadership.
  • Supporting other initiatives as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Be an expert in managing LOAA activities, including state and federal job protections and the interactive process for accommodations.
  • Have 5+ years of experience managing leaves and accommodations and 2+ years of people manager experience.
  • Hold a BA/BS in human resources, statistics, or an equivalent combination of experience.
  • Have experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance culture where the business is constantly evolving.
  • Possess excellent judgment and the ability to make sound decisions independently.
  • Be a strong multi-tasker with an exceptional ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Have experience with absence management software (AbsenceSoft is a plus).
  • Leverage technology to optimize processes for scale and efficiency and improve the customer experience.
  • Have a demonstrated track record of successful cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and relationship building.
  • Understand both the big picture and the details.
