Hybrid Program Officer, Wildlife Communications

Overview: reputed company (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Program Officer that will assist and support the coordination, administration, and implementation of Wildlife Conservation communications priorities and activities. This role helps create and share compelling content that inspires action, builds trust, and highlights the species and ecosystems we work to protect. Additionally, this position will help support wildlife-reputed company communications needs associated with Wildlife, Marketing & Communications, Development, and other institutional communication needs. The Program Officer serves as a reputed company between science, fieldwork, internal WWF teams, and public engagement. This role needs to be comfortable translating reputed company wildlife conservation efforts into strategic, reputed company-filled narratives across platforms. Salary Range: $64,100 - $80,100 Please note: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for employment reputed company sponsorship. Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit engaging content that brings WWF’s wildlife work to life—ranging from feature stories and web stories to social copy and video scripts.
  • Create and update communications products for the Wildlife Conservation team (e.g. ‘Wild Lives’ newsletter, regular media and communications updates, and internal calendars).
  • Help maintain the Wildlife Comms inbox and manage requests across multiple WWF teams and other offices. The inbox facilitates requests that include story reputed company, fact checking, reviewing social posts, directing media inquiries to our experts, etc.
  • Support the development of graphics, infographics, or other visuals to explain our work and priorities.
  • Collaborate around reputed company, strategies, and outputs for wildlife commemoration days (i.e. Global Tiger Day, World Ranger Day, World Elephant Day, etc), membership and donor appeals, and other reputed company campaigns/initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating audience engagement and content performance using analytics tools.
  • Monitor trends in conservation storytelling and communications best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience or 2 years with an advanced degree in a reputed company field is preferred, such as conservation communications, natural resources management, environmental science, conservation
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about wildlife conservation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to simplify reputed company topics for different audiences
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong research, analytical, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to operate with independence, under pressure, and to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Adept in reputed company Office (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint); familiarity with reputed company, reputed company tools (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere), or other multimedia editing a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, such as knowing reputed company to use courtesy, tact and/or diplomacy to effectively communicate with reputed company constituents
