Clinical Informaticist - Optime/Anesthesia - IT-Clinical

This Clinical Informaticist role will focus specifically on supporting perioperative workflows including nursing, technicians, Anesthesiology, and scheduling roles. The candidate must have demonstrated experience and certification in Epic Optime and/or Anesthesia, with the ideal candidate maintaining current certifications in both applications. An ideal candidate is able to relocate or already reside in San Diego, but all candidates will be considered. Work hours will be Pacific to align with clinical needs. Rady Children's will consider sponsoring qualified foreign Clinical Informaticists. JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Informaticist serves as a vital liaison between the Clinical Information Systems department and healthcare professionals. They design and implement system solutions to improve the full spectrum of health care services from scheduling, direct patient care, ancillary services, and revenue cycle. They provide knowledge and experience based support to highly visible, sensitive, and multi-faceted initiatives. They are responsible for the successful turnover of projects and requests to production. The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for assigned duties relating to: application and system installation and implementation; formulating system scope and design objectives through analysis and research. They are responsible for configuring vendor maintained systems or developing and modifying in house systems, and assisting with coordination efforts of users, ISD Staff, and vendors.The Clinical Informaticist performs research and analysis, prepares assigned project deliverables, and detailed specifications from which vendor systems will be programmed/configured, and provides process and workflow analysis. The roles and responsibilities include duties related to project analysis and planning, small scope project management (which may include design, analysis and implementation), along with the daily operational activities associated with the assigned systems, applications and projects. The Clinical Informaticist supports the overall business/project plan by providing deliverables as a team member to meet project/team performance and outcomes relative to established goals/measurements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience OR 5 years of clinical system development, support and maintenance experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills Understand fundamentals of project management, SDLC, ITSM, and ITIL process methodologies Understanding of health care patient administration, clinical and business systems and must have installed a minimum of one computer-based hospital system and actively performed the following: process and workflow analysis, systems/applications analysis, project lifecycle implementation with in-depth experience and training in a minimum of four discreet major projects Implementation and upgrade experience with previous integrated Healthcare Information Systems with emphasis on EMR applications/systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc.) Must possess skills and experience in oral and written communications; This is applicable to analysis documentation, project management deliverables and documentation, application/systems specifications, project preparation, risk identification and escalation; Ability to present to a broad spectrum of individuals and groups including senior management, physicians and health care professionals Understanding of health care patient administration, clinical and business systems Demonstrated ability to perform in a team environment, utilize effective team relationship skills and interact at all levels of the organization Demonstrated customer service focus, ability to self-motivate, self-direct and balance competing priorities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years of experience California RN License Respiratory Therapist Demonstrated level of integrity and trust, capable of maintaining confidential information Knowledge in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, Joint Commission, HIPAA and Title 22 requirements; Demonstrated ability to research complex regulatory requirements The current salary range for this position is $48.03 to $66.06 Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable. The range listed above does not represent the full salary range for the position but is the expected hiring range for qualified candidates.
