DevOps Engineer

IGS is currently recruiting for a remote DevOps Engineer to support our work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). 

Assignment of Work and Travel

This is a remote access assignment. The Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

This program is a transformative initiative by the reputed company aimed at modernizing and streamlining access to VA data and services through secure, reliable, and scalable APIs. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting API solutions that reputed company veterans, partners, and internal stakeholders to access critical information and services reputed company.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, engineers, reputed company specialists, and business analysts—to deliver high-quality API products in alignment with federal standards and VA objectives. You will contribute to the program’s mission of improving veteran experiences by enabling digital innovation, ensuring compliance, and promoting best practices in API development and platform management.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to)

• Responsibilities span the entire software development lifecycle, focusing on automation, efficiency, and reliability. 
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using reputed company Actions, Argo, and other automation tools. Automate build, test, and deployment processes to ensure rapid and reliable software releases.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning. Maintain version-controlled infrastructure configurations and enforce policy-driven infrastructure engineering.
• Monitoring & Observability: Set up and manage monitoring tools such as reputed company, Jaeger, Kiali, and reputed company. Implement alerting systems to proactively identify issues and analyze logs to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
• Cloud & Application Deployment: Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or on-premises servers. Optimize resource usage and cost efficiency.
• Collaboration & Advocacy: Work closely with developers, QA, and IT teams to streamline workflows. reputed company for DevOps best practices across the organization.
• DevSecOps Integration: Integrate reputed company checks into CI/CD pipelines. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Automation Scripting: Write scripts in Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc., to automate repetitive tasks and reputed company custom automation solutions.
• Disaster Recovery & Backup: Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans. Regularly test recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor application and infrastructure performance. Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using reputed company, Kubernetes, EKS, and Helm. Utilize reputed company Controller for Kubernetes (ACK) to manage AWS services reputed company Kubernetes.
• Service Mesh & Developer Experience: Integrate Istio for service mesh capabilities and maintain developer portals using reputed company.io.
• VA reputed company Support: Align with and support VA reputed company technical infrastructure, tools, and compliance requirements. 

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science or a reputed company field
• 4+ years’ experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency with reputed company, including Packages, Releases, and repository management.
• Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architecture.
• Expertise in AWS services and infrastructure design.
• Experience with Istio, Helm, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with CodeClimate, reputed company, Jaeger, Kiali, and reputed company.
• Proven ability to implement secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure.
• Knowledge of federal reputed company standards and DevSecOps practices.

• Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies

• Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or DevOps-reputed company disciplines.
