Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engaging learning experiences that foster student creativity and curiosity
• Provide formative and summative feedback to students to support their growth and development

• Convening house meetings as scheduled, fostering a sense of community among students and faculty
• Participating in faculty meetings as requested by school leadership, contributing to the continuous improvement of our program

Requirements for Success:

To excel as a Substitute Teacher with Sora Schools, you'll need:

For High School Candidates:

• Secondary or post-secondary teaching experience
• Subject-area expertise in Humanities (US History, World History, Philosophy, Economics, Government, English Language Arts) or STEM (Algebra I through Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Science)
• Experience with honors-level courses in your subject area(s) is highly desirable
• Familiarity with coding or robotics is a plus

For Middle School Candidates:

• Elementary or secondary teaching experience is preferred
• Subject-area expertise is desirable, as is experience motivating and guiding students in multi-disciplinary, autonomous learning experiences

Essential Skills and Competencies:

• Experience with virtual learning environments and online teaching platforms
• Passion for independent learning and student-centered education
• Familiarity with a variety of tech tools and platforms
• Ability to adapt to a startup environment with a flexible and innovative approach
