About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and talented Student Geologist to join reputed company as part of our summer internship program. As a Student Geologist Intern, you'll work closely with an reputed company mentor and be assigned a project and various other responsibilities intended to provide you with learning opportunities while delivering meaningful contributions to Ovintiv. Our Geoscience interns have an exciting opportunity to work reputed company-by-reputed company with industry experts utilizing cutting-edge geological, geophysical, and engineering technologies on some of the industry's best assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Log interpretation, geologic mapping, structural modelling, and core analysis to support exploration and development projects.
• Investigate critical parameters that influence productivity and economics, and identify opportunities for new well locations or pad optimization.
• Support operations through drilling and completions as it relates to rock properties.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary integration with teams including Geophysics, Petrophysics, and Engineering.
• Contribute to the development of projects and deliverables, and present findings to the team.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
• Be enrolled in an accredited Canadian university program in Geoscience or Geology.
• Be enrolled as a full-time student through December 2024.
• Be available to start on May 6, 2024, and work through August 23, 2024.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:

• Previous internship or co-op experience in the energy industry.
• Strong academic record with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Proficiency in relevant software and technologies, such as Petrel or other geological and geophysical tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
