Key Responsibilities
- Presents material and activities to improve skills in assigned areas, such as reading, writing, math, computers, and/or vocational education
- Works individually or in small groups with reputed company who are in special education
- Records grades and other measures of reputed company' reputed company and behavior
- Provides instructional assistance in assigned areas
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing with staff, reputed company, and parents
- Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion
- Operates a personal computer and reputed company software to support instructional activities
- Maintains effective working relationships with staff, reputed company, and parents
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that demonstrate your ability to work effectively with reputed company with special needs. The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Some prior experience working with school-age children preferred
- CPR, first aid, and district-approved behavior management techniques may be required
- Valid Alaska driver's license required
- Must have either an AA degree, or 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass the ParaPro Assessment (support available)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in a special education setting
- Knowledge of behavior modification techniques and strategies
- Experience with personal computers and reputed company software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
This is a part-time 9-month position, working 35 hours per week, with a starting salary of $22.97 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off. Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records reputed company.
