Part-Time Tax Preparer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in preparing federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, as well as providing proactive tax planning and compliance services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, Sole Proprietors, Partnerships, S Corps, and other entity types, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
• Develop and deliver quarterly and year-end tax projections to help clients plan effectively and optimize their tax strategies.
• Prepare extensions as needed, ensuring compliance with federal and state deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement proactive tax strategies that meet client needs.
• Serve as the primary contact for tax-related inquiries, working with team members to deliver clear and actionable guidance.
• Maintain organized, secure records of client tax returns and supporting documentation.
• Leverage technology to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns, with extensive familiarity working with Schedule C clients (self-employed individuals and sole proprietors).
• An Active PTIN; CPA or EA certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in Lacerte, Adobe, Microsoft Excel, and G Suite; experience with TaxDome is a plus.
• A strong understanding of federal and multi-state tax laws.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
