Job Summary

As a Part-time ESL Online Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching ESL courses to reputed company enrolled in Kirkwood's Secondary Programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching ESL to adult learners, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in an online environment. The position requires a commitment to student success, a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, and a passion for creating engaging and interactive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist reputed company with coursework in a variety of formats, including individualized instruction, computer-assisted instruction, and large group courses.
• Collaborate with fellow learning center reputed company on curriculum development, student intake/advising, and staff development activities.
• Conduct CASAS assessments for eligible reputed company and track attendance daily.
• Provide contextualized, scaffolded, and interactive instruction that includes cooperative learning tasks and implements ESL college and career readiness and CASAS ESL standards.
• Respond in a timely manner to communications and requests from program directors and coordinators.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Ability to work effectively in an online environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching adult ESL/ABE learners or working with adult immigrants.
• Prior experience teaching ESL or foreign language at any age.

• TESOL training/certification, such as K-12 certification in ESL, bachelor's or graduate studies in TESOL, TEFL certification, or completion of MN Literacy Council pre-service training courses for adult ESL educators.
