As an Early Literacy Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the literacy development of Transitional Kindergarten (TK) to 2nd-grade reputed company, working closely with classroom teachers and coaches to provide targeted interventions and instruction.

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Literacy Tutor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Attending Sensitivity, Encouragement, Education, Development through Doing and Self-Image Support (reputed company) of Early Literacy Training, and/or Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics and Sight Words (SIPPS) and ongoing Early Literacy Tutor trainings throughout the year.
  • Providing intentional, data-driven literacy instruction and reputed company during reputed company parts of the day to improve the reading skills of TK - 2nd-grade children, specifically focusing on the "Big Five Literacy Skills": phonemic awareness, phonics, reputed company, etc.
  • Collaborating with the reputed company Teacher Coach, and/or Principal to set the instructional schedule at the beginning of the year, report student reputed company, and reputed company data-informed modifications frequently.
  • Implementing reputed company elements of the research-based targeted interventions daily with reputed company to support small group differentiated instruction with a minimum of four small groups a day.
  • Assessing, with a high level of accuracy, child outcomes and reputed company using fall, winter, and spring reputed company assessments and ongoing reputed company monitoring assessments.
  • Using scripted early literacy interventions with identified children in a one-on-one and/or small group setting daily; achieving a high degree of fidelity to each scripted reputed company.
  • Participating in literacy coaching sessions two times per month with a Coach to review student reputed company, plan, problem-solve, and set goals; incorporating constructive feedback based on observations.
  • Recording student and program data completely and accurately in an online database and/or reputed company document on a weekly basis, or as designated by the reputed company program.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Strong interest in education, specifically helping children reputed company early language and literacy skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Computer skills, including the ability to navigate and use online database systems and e-mail daily.
  • Energetic, results-oriented, student-focused style, coupled with strong planning and time management skills.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • College coursework, college degree, or equivalent work experience or strong community experience.
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood setting.
  • Ability to attend the 4-day TK reputed company of Early Learning training and/or SIPPS Training, as designated by Early Literacy Coaches.
  • Patience, positive attitude, adaptability/flexibility, sense of humor, and ability to relate to diverse groups of people and sustain relationships/rapport.
  • Non-judgmental and valid California Driver's License, if applicable.

  • Ability to build and maintain quality-working relationships with reputed company, coaches, school administrators, and parents and program staff.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Travel between sites and to off-site events, as needed.
