Overview: Lifeway is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide business and financial guidance and analysis to assigned ministry areas. Position will work alongside leaders of their assigned areas and provide leadership and expertise in the areas of: budget development; pro forma development; periodic financial reporting and analysis of results; inventory management; fixed asset management; and long term planning.   • Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Advises business leaders based on data and reporting leading to recommendations for actionable business decisions. Communicates financial results to business leaders on a regular basis.
  • Analyzes revenues, product costs, and operating expenses. Investigates variances and makes correcting journal entries as necessary.
  • Calculates annual budgets utilizing Lifeway's budgeting tools and processes in partnership with business leaders, sales, and marketing. Prepares quarterly forecasts which are leveraged in the budgeting process. Calculates variances to budget and tells the story behind the numbers. Improves the quality of internal and external financial data to drive business decision making and performance.
  • Creates and maintains financial reporting and KPI's based on business leaders requirements and needs.
  • Monitors inventory levels and recommends reprints and other inventory decisions as necessary. This is related to analyst positions in Publishing areas that involve physical inventory.
  • Generates pro-formas to recommend financial viability of products.
  • Become the subject matter expert in the business area you support and develop an understanding of Lifeway's overall finances.
  • Make additional contributions to the FP&A team by helping with budget files, technological expertise, and other special projects as necessary.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Minimal travel,occasionally overnight

Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field, required Master's degree / MBA / CPA, preferred Advanced graduate degree (PhD, etc.) not required Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis and accounting
  • 3+ years of data analysis and reporting experience
  • 3+ years providing financial/budgeting support
  • 4+ years advanced Excel experience in a Finance related environment
  • 3+ years in an analytical role within a Finance related environment

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred

  • MBA / CPA
  • 2+ years experience business intelligence tools (Power BI, Microstrategy, etc)
