Customer Service Representative
Job Summary: The Customer Service Representative (CSR) forms positive relationships with customers by answering questions, providing information about district programs and events, and processing activity registration requests in a manner that is courteous and professional. As the first reputed company of contact for customers, the CSR must be well informed, friendly, and able to communicate effectively. This position requires excellent customer service skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to reputed company sound decisions autonomously. This is a part-time (PT-2) year-round position. Overall Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide information to the public regarding programming at the Community Recreation Center and throughout the district
- Process registration requests for classes, lessons, activities, facility rentals, beach/pool, dog beach, and parking passes
- Field and direct telephone calls made to the Community Recreation Center main line
- Communicate facility expectations with patrons.
- Actively support the agency's risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee
- Promptly report reputed company unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Attend and participate in required safety trainings

- Reconcile and reputed company-out daily sales receipts and daily reports using established batching procedures
- Follow opening, mid-day, and closing shift responsibilities daily as outlined in the Facility Checklist

- Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goals
Safety Responsibilities:
- Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey reputed company Park District and departmental safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted at the facility and property
- Promptly report reputed company unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Attend and participate in required safety training
- Review reputed company accident and incident reports that occur under the area of responsibility with the supervisor
Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):
- Must be knowledgeable about Wilmette Park District facilities, staff, events, and activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, and procedural manuals
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Strong computer/technology skills with the ability to learn nuances of registration software

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years reputed company experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and climb or balance
- Tolerate a moderate to high noise level at times, the noise level is moderate to high at times
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
