Job Summary

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse - PRN NIGHTS, you will play a vital role in our nursing team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and performing various therapeutic procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the care of assigned patients on designated shifts, working closely with the RN and other healthcare team members.
• Administers oral and IV medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting of patient responses.
• Performs vital sign assessments, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Provides ostomy care, wound care, and dressing changes as needed.
• Monitors patients for changes in medical condition, notifying the physician and RN as appropriate.
• Collects and documents patient data, including intake and output, and reports any concerns to the RN.
• Assists with discharge planning, patient education, and community resource referrals.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Training:

• Holds reputed company licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of Texas.
• reputed company Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Experience:

• At least one year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in long-term acute care or rehabilitation settings is beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patient assignments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing patient needs and priorities.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
• Higher comfort level working with ventilators, tracheostomies, PICC lines, and other advanced medical equipment.
• Two or more years of experience in direct patient care.
