Job Overview

The Tractor Yard Switcher I is responsible for transporting full and empty trailers between the docks and designated drop parking locations in the trailer yard, performing inspections of trailers for mechanical maintenance needs, and communicating any discovered issues to warehouse management and/or fleet maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport full and empty trailers between the docks and designated drop parking spaces in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect trailers before transporting to identify issues of mechanical maintenance needs and/or potential safety hazards.
• Maintain organization of the trailer yard to ensure the efficient and safe transport of trailers.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and warehouse.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
