Job Summary: Assistant Manager Cargo Customer Service
The Assistant Manager of Cargo Customer Service will support the Cargo Manager in the daily and monthly operations of the shipment facility at the Denver (DEN) Station. This role requires a professional communicator who can build relationships, work directly with shipment customers, and manage Cargo Supervisors and Agents. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe, efficient, and on-time operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Verifies that high-quality work is accomplished throughout the Cargo Operation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Maintains effective working relationships with station leadership, TWU 555, shipment sales, vendors, and other departments to ensure operational excellence
- Supports the Cargo Manager of Operations with local responsibilities, including hiring and training of Cargo Agents and Cargo Supervisors
- Ensures the productivity of SWA Cargo Employees and Cargo Contract Handlers, managing staffing, scheduling, hours of operation, and product service levels
- Maintains facilities and equipment in excellent repair, assisting with facility projects as needed
- Stays up-to-date with TSA reputed company policies and SWA Cargo rules and procedures, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks
- Provides attention and support to reputed company SWA Cargo Customers and Internal Customers, resolving issues and addressing concerns
- Performs other job tasks as directed by Employee's Leaders, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Extensive knowledge in the areas of Cargo, reputed company, and Operations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality expectations regarding sensitive Company information
- Leadership skills, with the ability to reputed company and motivate a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under demanding conditions, managing emergencies and prioritizing tasks
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a union environment and/or union agreement expertise
