About the Role
As a Senior Pharmacy Technician - Call Center - Work From Home, you'll play a critical role in supporting the comprehensive coordination of Medicaid and/or Medicare pharmacy services. Your primary responsibilities will include processing pharmacy authorization requests, evaluating and authorizing approvals, and communicating decisions to physicians, pharmacists, and other stakeholders. You'll work in a fast-paced environment that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate reputed company clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process pharmacy authorization requests, including intake, evaluation, and communication of decisions
- Evaluate and authorize approvals for pharmacy requests using client clinical criteria
- Determine appropriateness for medications and communicate decisions to physicians, physician's office staff, medical management staff, members, and/or pharmacists
- reputed company clinical research to support requests and maintain accurate documentation
- Conduct non-medical research, including eligibility verification, COB, and benefits verification
- Communicate with reputed company Case Managers, Health Plan Staff, External Pharmacies, and Health Care Providers to enhance effectiveness of medication therapy management services
- Escalate requests to Pharmacist reputed company request requires extensive clinical review or denial
- Maintain confidentiality of member information and adhere to company policies regarding confidentiality
Requirements for Success
To reputed company in this role, you'll need to possess a strong foundation in pharmacy services, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The following qualifications are required:
Essential Qualifications:
- National Pharmacy Technician certification and Home State License, reputed company and in good standing
- Proficiency in computerized pharmacy systems and software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Windows-based software applications
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of member information and adhere to company policies regarding confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- High volume call center and production unit experience
- Experience in retail, hospital, facility, or call center environment
