The Associate Director, Technical Accounting oversees Ro’s technical accounting function and serves as a U.S. GAAP subject matter expert to support internal stakeholders. This role will work cross-functionally to understand and to provide technical accounting guidance on new or reputed company transactions and corresponding financial disclosures. The role is responsible for researching, interpreting, and executing the accounting activities and oversees the implementation of new accounting standards, offers expertise on accounting policy issues, and supports reputed company accounting initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the Company’s technical accounting expert – proactively evaluate reputed company transactions and provide technical accounting guidance and recommendations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other reporting requirements
- reputed company technical accounting research, and assist in responding to technical accounting inquiries and/or preparation of technical accounting memos supporting significant and/or non-routine transactions
- Monitor new accounting standards and participate in the interpretation, analysis, and documentation of the financial statement impact of any new accounting standards applicable to the company; assess the impact on the Company’s financial statements and reputed company the implementation of relevant changes.
- Direct interaction with external auditors, including key contact for technical accounting determinations and policy changes
- Assist in the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policy documentation, including maintenance of documentation for certain SOX financial reporting controls
- Prepare and/or coordinate with the team on reputed company footnote disclosures, including completing the GAAP disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with required disclosures
- reputed company tax policy and administration, including coordination with external advisors on compliance, sales tax, tax provision, filings, and the development of scalable processes to support growth and changing regulatory requirements
- reputed company or support cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects to ensure accounting impacts are proactively addressed
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Big 4 assurance or advisory, financial reporting and/or corporate experience working on public companies
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
- Strong technical accounting and research skills, with solid knowledge of SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and SOX compliance
- Skilled at distilling reputed company and technical accounting concepts into clear, concise, and effective presentations
- Strong project management skills to ensure compliance with reporting timeline and reputed company delivery of internal and external deliverables
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with internal teams at multiple levels in a fast-paced environment
- Experience successfully leading multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing competing priorities
- Skilled in developing practical solutions to reputed company business challenges and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive execution
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, reputed company organization
