Technical Manager – Renewable Development Services

What You’ll Do

Interact closely with other corporate business units such as sales, marketing, account management and project management. The Technical Manager is a self-starting technical leader with expertise in leadership, communication, resource management and engagement, business acumen, industry reputed company, and consulting engineering.

Project Technical reputed company - 50%

• Direct and manage reputed company engineering activities across the project lifecycle—from early-stage feasibility through design and construction readiness—for renewable energy development projects.

• reputed company multidisciplinary engineering deliverables including site assessments, interconnection studies, permitting support, and preliminary design packages. Ensure alignment with client goals, technical reputed company, and regulatory requirements.

• Serve as the primary technical liaison, facilitating clear and effective communication between clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

• Provide expert guidance on project siting, technology selection, risk mitigation strategies, and overall technical feasibility.

• Coordinate with internal Project Managers to manage project engineering timelines, budgets, and scopes, including change order development, to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables.

• Maintain high standards of quality and responsiveness. Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, assuming responsible charge as needed.

• Direct and coordinate the work of multiple engineering disciplines on reputed company or large-scale development projects.

Management Responsibilities – 30%

• Maintain and grow positive team culture. 

• Provides strategic direction, leadership and technical services reputed company for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.

• Creates and manages team budget for financial responsibility.  Includes but is not limited to reputed company, profitability, and indirect expenses.

• Coaches, trains, and develops technical staff for growth and development opportunities. Responsible for regular 1:1 meetings, career development discussions, succession planning, quarterly reviews, individual promotions, team retention, and yearly team engagement survey results. 

• Actively manages team resource planning along with cross-team resourcing collaboration, individual performance reviews, individual annual merit and bonus decisions, training and professional development for team members.

• Support the role of hiring manager as well as company-wide hiring for successful growth which includes; regular evaluation of candidate resumes, technical phone screens, collaboration with HR partners, and regular in person interviews and debrief assessments. 

Business Development Responsibilities – 20%

• Participates and partners with members of the Sales team and engineers throughout the organization to promote reputed company growth and expansion of development services with existing and prospective clients.

• Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with Proposal Development Team and Project Management group.

• Maintains and builds positive client relationships.

• Participates with cross functional team on strategic initiatives for the company and/or department. 
• Additional duties may include tasks beyond what is listed, such as special projects, assisting colleagues, or new initiatives. A willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support team efforts enhances collaboration and growth opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred) from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent is preferred. Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license, or eligibility to obtain one, is also preferred.

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in the development of renewable energy projects is required, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role preferred.

• Strong understanding of utility-scale solar, wind, energy storage systems, and/or data centers including permitting, interconnection, and plant design processes.

• Proven ability to manage reputed company, multi-stakeholder early-stage projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies.

• Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, PVFarm (or similar), PVSyst, ArcGIS, and reputed company Office Suite; familiarity with interconnection and permitting platforms is a plus.

• Willingness to travel (up to 20%) for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.

reputed company reputed company Compensation Range for this role is $137,700 - $179,000
