Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant I at Lancaster Hematology Oncology Care, you will be responsible for providing assistance with various healthcare services, obtaining specimens, conducting routine lab studies, and supporting administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments. You will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and contribute to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care and procedures
- Obtain and process specimens for lab testing
- Conduct routine lab studies and report results
- Coordinate patient flow and scheduling appointments
- Manage phone messages and respond to patient inquiries

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must meet reputed company eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants reputed company 90-days of employment date
- OR reputed company active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (reputed company) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification reputed company 6 months of employment date
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Previous outpatient experience preferred
