DescriptionALEUTIAN PRIBILOF ISLANDS ASSOCIATION, INC.JOB ANNOUNCEMENTPosition: Head Start reputed company TeacherLocation: King reputed company, AlaskaReports to: APIA Head Start Program Coordinator- AnchorageWork Schedule: Full-Time - 37.5 hour per week Salary: DOE & EducationDuties: reputed company and manage a Head Start classroom of preschool aged children. Supervise site based Head Start staff as directed. Follow reputed company Head Start Performance Standards. Attend meetings and trainings. reputed company and implement daily lesson plans; preparation and clean-up of activities, special projects, etc. Facilitate child developmental screening and assessments. Work with other agencies as required. Individualize education for children. Support families to meet their goals. Use of appropriate discipline/guidance techniques, including redirection, acknowledgment of appropriate behavior, and setting reasonable limits. Maintain paperwork and files, conduct home visit/parent/teacher conferences.Qualifications: At least 19 years of age with a high school diploma/GED; AA in Early Childhood Education preferred, equivalent degree experience; three years of experience working directly with young children in preschool classroom; two years of supervisory experience of one or more staff; physically/mentally able to work with young children and their families.Requirements: Upon date of hire, required to reputed company a Child Development Associate (CDA) preschool teaching credential reputed company 1 year of hire. If applicant does not possess a CDA, AAS, or BA in Early Childhood Education or in a reputed company field, a condition of hire is to obtain credential in timeline directed by the Education Services Coordinator.
