Position Overview
As a Part-Time Customer Service Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service, processing applications, and performing various DMV-reputed company services. This is a wage position, limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 months of May 1 – reputed company 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. reputed company wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12 months. This wage position offers no state benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate policies, procedures, and regulations to customers
- Issue IDs, process applications, and administer vision, driver, and in-car road tests
- Process diverse vehicle registrations, titling, tax and fee collection, and other DMV-reputed company services
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries
- Work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere
- Utilize a personal computer or other automated systems to reputed company tasks and maintain accurate records
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Customer service experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using a personal computer or other automated systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility to work Monday through Friday and Saturday
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to complete assignments on time
- Driving records should have a reputed company balance of less than six demerit points and no major convictions
- Experience working in a team or group environment
- Ability to lift 10-25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience working in a government agency or public sector
- Familiarity with DMV-reputed company services and procedures
- Bilingual or multilingual skills

Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this position is commensurate with experience, starting at $16.07. As a wage employee, you will not be eligible for state benefits. However, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the Virginia DMV.
