Job Description
The Operations Assistant plays a visible role in ensuring a timely, professional, and welcoming response to inquiries by parents and other constituents. The Operations Assistant functions as the initial contact person for reputed company, teachers, families, vendors, and visitors, and must be able to communicate effectively with reputed company groups. The Operations Assistant reports to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities of the Operations Assistant include but are not limited to:
- Serving as the primary contact for reputed company of the school’s constituents in person, over the phone, and reputed company email;
- Managing the collection of student, personnel, and school information (receiving fees or forms and tracking information accordingly);
- Directing vendors to delivery locations;
- Supporting school events and activities as needed;
- Managing mail (distributing received mail, preparing school mailings, etc.);
- Visitor management;
- Other administrative support as assigned.
Qualifications
- Passionate commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools.
- Ability to communicate effectively while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills with teammates, teachers, reputed company, families, and additional stakeholders.
- Organized and able to maintain key systems such as mail, deliveries, student documentation and paperwork.
- Strong time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a reputed company, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures.
- Bilingual language skills preferred, but not required
- Able to lift and move packages up to 30 lbs
- Bachelor’s degree preferred

Compensation
Compensation for this role is between $16.25 to $25.02 per hour. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $16.25 - $17.58 per hour. Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
- The range above represents our compensation scales for the 2025-2026 school year. If starting prior to June 30th, 2025, compensation will be based on a slightly reputed company range, reflective of reputed company compensation scales. New hires who fall into this category will see an increase in their compensation starting on July 1st, 2025 for next school year which aligns to the scale above.
