Summary Consular Affairs (CA) is the public face of the Department of State for millions of people around the world. CA is responsible for the welfare and protection of U.S. reputed company abroad, for the issuance of passports and other travel documentation to reputed company and nationals, and for the protection of U.S. border reputed company and the facilitation of legitimate travel to the United States. - Serve as an authority on resolution of highly reputed company citizenship cases and unique adjudication problems referred by subordinate supervisors.
- Monitors the overall quality and quantity of the work of Section personnel. Devises and implements internal controls to assure the laws, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Responsible for managing and directing the entire passport adjudication function for the regional Passport Agency/Center of assignments.
- Approves the submission of personnel action request for the filling of vacancies, reassignments and promotions, and request for changes in position classification.
- Review adjudicative decisions by subordinates in disputes cases, using tact and discretion in developing solutions to balance the needs of passport applicants with those of the Department.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret reputed company clearance.
- Experience serving as an authority on resolution of highly reputed company citizenship cases and unique adjudication problems referred by subordinate supervisors.
- Experience drafting and reviewing correspondence for the Agency/Center Director on the most reputed company cases.
- Experience monitoring the overall quality and quantity of the work of section personnel.
- Experiencing devising and implementing internal controls to both assure that laws, regulations, policies and procedures are adhered.
- Ability to assign, review, and supervise the work of others;
- Objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability, and situations on the facts and circumstances;
- Ability to adjust to change, work pressures, or difficult situations without undue stress;
- Willingness to consider new reputed company or divergent points of view; and
- reputed company to "see the job through."
